Re-Writing workshop-Session I-Januray 2016

For its 6th consecutive year, The FLC, in partnership with the French Institute held its annual Script Rewriting Workshop for the first and second feature film.

A jury composed of Elie Chalhoub (Producer and member of the FLC’s board) Jana Wehbe (Producer), Hani Tamba (Director), and Amélie Depardon (French Institute) have received and read carefully the filmmakers’ projects who applied to the workshop.

5 projects were selected:

Manhattan KingRobert Cremona

Blood OrangeJad Dani Ali Hassan

Les quinzeGaby et Michel Zarazir

Al Amira Toni Remy

MarinaToni Farjallah.

The workshop took place from the 18th to the 22nd of January with the consultancy of 2 professional script doctors: Karim Khoury (from Lebanon) and Yves Ulmann (from France).

During this week, the script doctors had one to one meetings with the candidates to treat their projects, fortify the weak parts of the scenarios by digging in the treatment, and by discussing the elaboration of the script.

Following to this intensive week, skype meetings will be held between the script doctors and the candidates, so they can proceed in the development of their scenarios.

A second rewriting session week will be held in April, in order to complete the first session and to conclude the workshop.

When done, 2 prices designated by a professional jury will be given to 2 selected scenarios.

The price consists in designating 2 script doctors to work on the winning scenarios during 3 months. One condition to have access to the price is to have a producer interested in the projects.

This rewriting workshop organized every year by the FLC aims in the improvement of the feature film scenario… hoping that one day they will see the light on the big screen…

See you in April for the 2nd session of the FLC Rewriting Workshop
