BEIRUT CINEMA PLATFORM (BCP)
March 29-31, 2019

Following the many successes it has reached during the past editions, “Beirut Cinema Platform” (BCP) returned in its 4th edition.

Organized by Beirut DC and Fondation Liban Cinema (FLC), this platform aimed at encouraging co-productions and collaborations by bringing together Lebanese and Arab independent filmmakers/producers, holders of feature-length fiction and documentary projects, with film and industry professionals.

The event took place over three days, during which around 15 project holders participating in the official competition met with more than 30 local, regional and international co-producers, commissioning editors, festival and fund representatives, and sales agents.

The meetings focused on encouraging project development, co-productions and collaborations, facilitating the access to regional and international financing, and promoting the exchange of expertise between the participants and the film professionals.

On the third day, the project holders met with a jury composed of three professionals who selected the winning projects, and awarded:

Karim Rahbani for hi sproject project “Chameem”: The Berlin Film Artist–in–Residency (AiR) “award. An initiative of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Fondation Liban Cinema
Pierre Abou Jaoude for his project “Une Nuit en 1987” : Participation in the 2020 Beirut Cinema Platform ملتقى بيروت السّينمائي award
Cyril Aris for his project “It’s a sad and beautiful world”: Script Writing award – Art Residency at Cité Internationale des Arts – Paris for one month
