Founded in 2003, Fondation Liban Cinema (FLC) was founded in 2003, by a group of industry professionals to support Lebanese Cinema with a strong desire to place it at an international level. Today, FLC is the leading organization dedicated to the development of Lebanon’s audiovisual sector. FLC helps strengthen the country’s creative industries and expand their global reach.

MISSION
Recognizing its expertise and impact, the Lebanese Ministry of Culture entrusted FLC with several public-interest missions under a cooperation agreement. These include facilitating international co-productions, supporting the professionalization and structuring of the audiovisual sector, and promoting Lebanese cinema internationally to attract investment and foster a competitive and sustainable industry.
Over the past decade, FLC has supported more than 250 film professionals and contributed to the production and distribution of over 25 films, enabling Lebanese talent and stories to reach audiences worldwide.
Objectives
Our vision is to create sustainable pathways for filmmakers at every stage of their careers by expanding access to international networks, encouraging innovation, strengthening creative entrepreneurship, and generating new opportunities for growth and employment.
Through these efforts, FLC seeks to retain talent, support a new generation of creators, preserve Lebanon’s cultural diversity and identity, and contribute to documenting and archiving the country’s contemporary history. Ultimately, our ambition is to position Lebanon as a recognized regional hub for independent filmmaking and audiovisual creation.
WHY IT MATTERS?
Before the 2019 economic crisis, Lebanon’s screen industries represented a significant share of the country’s cultural and creative economy. Cinema alone accounted for approximately 9% of the total turnover of Lebanon’s cultural and creative industries. It is also worth noting that, taken as a whole, the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) were estimated to account for 4.75% of Lebanon’s GDP and 4.5% of formal employment.
By transforming creative potential into a more structured, productive, and export-oriented sector, FLC contributes to preserving one of Lebanon’s greatest assets while supporting the country’s long-term recovery and development.
