It is in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union Mr. Ralph Tarraf, the respective directors of ESA and Smart ESA, Mr. Maxence Duault and Mr. Selim Yasmine, that the Fondation Liban Cinema wrapped the Creative Entrepreneurship for Film Producers training program.
This 4-month training, supervised by the Lebanese producer Myriam Sassine, aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of producers in line with the needs and challenges of today’s world.
The 5 participants: Christelle Younes, Gaby Zarazir, Rosy Hajj, Nicolas Khabbaz, Rosy Hajj and Simon Souaid pitched their projects in front of a jury composed of Maya de Freige, president of the Fondation Liban Cinema, Maroun Chammas, entrepreneur in sectors such as oil and gas, telecom, and technology, Joana Hadjithomas, filmmaker, artist and director among other films of Memory Box and I Want to See, Gabriel Chamoun, producer and CEO of The Talkies, and Sandra Abboud, Head of Executive Education at ESA Business School.
The jury awarded three prizes:
-Creative Entrepreneurship Award 5000 euros granted by the European Union went to Nicolas Khabbaz to contribute to the development of his film “ Don’t worry I am not okay”.
– A second prize of 5000 euros was awarded by Maroun Chammas to Rosy Hajj for her project “A Road to Damascus”.
– The Berlin Artist-In Award (Berlin AIR) was awarded to Gaby Zarazir to further develop his project “A Trip to Jerusalem”. This prize consists of a three-month artist residency in Berlin and is offered by Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.
