To help in the distribution of a Lebanese film
The Boghossian Foundation, in partnership with Fondation Liban Cinema, had the pleasure this year to launch a new award that honored the Lebanese cinema: the “Coup de Coeur Award” for distribution to help a Lebanese film abroad or in Lebanon.
The cash prize, worth $ 10,000 was also accompanied by an artist residency at Villa Empain-Bruxelles to help the filmamker in the development of his next film project.
Established in 1992, the Boghossian Foundation is committed to support many educational, urbanistic, artistic, cultural and cinematographic projects in different countries. In Belgium, the Boghossian Foundation acquired, in 2006, the Villa Empain, in order to establish its head office and a center for art and dialogue between the cultures of the East and the West.
After receiving many projects and after a long deliberation, a specialized national and international jury was finally able to select 2 projects to win the first and the second prize:
- 10 000$, attributed to 1982, a film by Oualid Mouaness and produced by Abbout Productions
- Artist Residency at Villa Empain for one month, attributed to Ghassan Halawani
Fondation Liban Cinema was very happy to collaborate for the first time with Fondation Boghossian is this year’s edition, hoping many more in the near future.
